PT UCI Utama is located in Tanjung Morawa, North Sumatera, Indonesia.  It is in an industrial suburb of the capital city of North Sumatera, Medan, and close to the largest shipping port in North Sumatera, Port of Belawan.  It is also situated in a region known for its abundance of high quality coconut shell supplies. 

The manufacturing facility is nestled within a greenery park where various species of tropical trees, fruits and flowers could be found in the premise.  Bamboo trees line the driveway within the park leading to another coconut tree park before reaching the manufacturing facility,providing a harmonious blend of a natural environment peacefully co-existing with the production facility. 

PT UCI Utama was established in 1988. Our commitment to green environment has been the motivation in the set-up of this company and in everything we do since its inception.  Activated Carbon is an adsorbent and has a wide range of applications for cleaning and purification of air, liquids and gases.  It may also be used in the recovery of precious metals directly from the ore, catalyst support in the process industry and electric super-capacitor for the automobile industry. It is our way to build a clean environment for the future generation. The activated carbon we produce comes from natural coconut shell charcoal.  In our manufacturing processes, the heat produced from high temperature steam activation is recycled and recovered to produce the required steam for energy conservation.

Our company was accredited in 1996 by the President of Indonesia, and was awarded with “Paramakarya” – a symbol of honour for outstanding and one of the most highly productive enterprises of the year. With a little over two decades of experience in manufacturing activated carbon, we apply the experience we gained to assist our customers in producing the activated carbon that meet their needs/applications.
